Note: Depending on your security settings, CliniClue Online update may not load from the CliniClue Xplore File menu. In this case, you will need to exit from from CliniClue Xplore and run 'Online Update' from Windows Start menu (Start > All Programs > CliniClue Xplore > Online Update).

File > Database Connection Manager: Loads the Database Connection Manager which is used to set references to databases that support additional features. In the CliniClue Xplore freeware version the only external databases supported are for CrossMap and Comment Views.

Language Menu

Language > All languages : All descriptions that are present in the selected SNOMED CT Edition will be shown irrespective of language and dialect.

Language > [Language/Dialect]: The descriptions in the chosen language or dialect will be shown. In the Hierarchy and Select Views other language descriptions may be shown if there is no translation into the chosen language. In the Detail View, descriptions in the chosen language/dialect will be shown first. Depending on configuration settings, descriptions in other languages may also be displayed but will be separately identifed.

Language > User Interface Language : The user interface language can be set separately from the language applied to the SNOMED CT Edition.

Language > User Interface Language Tools : User interface language tools are advanced options that support creation and management of translated user interfaces for CliniClue.

  • Live Edit missing items: Prompts for a new translation whenever an untranslated message is encountered.

  • Refresh Translations: Reapplies the translation file to the current CliniClue Xplore user-interface..

Layout Menu

Layout > Refresh All Frames : Updates the display of all browser frames. This can also be done by clicking F5.

Layout > Tabbed Single Column : Changes the layout so that instead of several display columns a single column of frames is displayed. The frames in the other columns are assigned to separate tabs, which can be selected for viewing. This layout option enables a narrower CliniClue Xplore window to be used without losing any functionality. This is particularly useful when other applications are sharing the screen area. The tab view option may also be selected using the button on the main toolbar.

Layout > Display on Main Screen : This option forces the browser to display in the main screen area. This option is useful on computers that use dual screen views or where for any reason the browser is no longer in the visible screen area. If the CliniClue Xplore window and menu cannot be seen you can still use this option. On the Windows task bar select 'CliniClue Xplore' and then hold the control key down and press the letter 'D'.

Layout > Layout Editor : Allows Layouts to be rearranged, reconfigured and saved (see Layout Editor). This functionality is only available as part of CliniClue Xtra.

Layout > Load Layout: Loads a named layout from either the built-in set of layouts or from customised layout created using the Layout Editor.
