The Online Update service is a CliniClue configuration program that allows CliniClue to be
updated directly from web-based resources.
Updates available include:
- Software updates so you benefit from enhancements and bug-fixes
- ClueData for the latest SNOMED CT International release
- ClueData for national and other Extensions to SNOMED CT
- Subject to availability from the Extension provider.
- If your organisation would like to build, view and distribute its own Extensions using
CliniClue consider buying a license for CliniClue Xtend.
- Information on added value CliniClue products such as CliniClue Xtra and CliniClue Xtend.
- Information about our SNOMED CT training and implementation support services.
CliniClue Online Update can be run from the Windows Start menu. Use the .
Note: You may also be able
to access CliniClue Online Update directly through the CliniClue Xplore File menu. However, on
some systems access to Online Updates may require system administrator rights. In these cases,
you will need to use the Start menu to access the Online Update service.
Note: If you are
unable to access Online Update the same files can be downloaded from the web at
www.cliniclue.com.
A form with three tabs is displayed. Each of these tabs is described below.

The first tab displays the latest new from the CliniClue web site.

Online updates
The second tab show the list of available downloads.
- The downloads are grouped by types (e.g. Help file updates, software update and ClueData
updates).
- Files that have already been downloaded or installed are show in gray. However, these files
can be downloaded again if necessary.
- Addition information about each update can be viewed by clicking the + symbol to the left
of each item.

- Click the box to the left of the items you want to download.
- Several items can be downloaded at once.
- If you select an Extension ClueData file, the International Edition on which it depends
will be automatically selected. However, it will only be downloaded if it is not already on
you computer.
- The destination of the download is selected automatically. However, you can override the
ClueData location if you do not have sufficient space in the default location.
- When all the required items have been marked, click the Download button.
- The files will be downloaded.
- A progress window is shown during the download
- When the download is complete the file will be copied or unzipped to the required
location in your computer
- If you have downloaded a setup file, you will be prompted to run the setup program to
complete the update.
- Make sure that no other CliniClue programs are running before running
Note: If a file does not download correctly using this method, the following alternative
approach can be used. Select a file in the list. Then choose the menu . A
time-limited URL can then be pasted from the clipboard into the address bar of a web browser.
This allows a file to be downloaded manually if necessary.
Update from File
Online updating is recommended. However, if this is not possible, the final tab provides a way
to import files that received on other media (e.g. a CD, DVD or USB).
