Download ClueData

The following instructions explain how to download and apply ClueData for a SNOMED CT Edition. This process can be used for ClueData hosted on the CliniClue Online Update service. CliniClue also allows file based update for Editions that are not hosted by the CliniClue Online Update service. The file based update update can also be used if firewalls or other security consideration prevent CliniClue from communicating with the CliniClue web repository.

To download and install ClueData:

If the CliniClue Xplore Browser is running, exit from the Browser. This is essential if the update applies to the current selected Edition. The updater cannot update files that are open.
Run the ClueData Online Update program Start > All Programs > CliniClue Xplore > Online Update
To see the updates currently available on the CliniClue Online Update service select the tab labelled Online Update.
Select the ClueData Edition you want to download. A ClueData update file is a zip archive with a name like Sct[EditionKey]_[DateKey].zip.
- [EditionKey]: An abbreviation for the SNOMED CT Edition.
  - Examples, Intl=International Edition, Uk=UK NHS Edition, Es=Spanish Edition, Cafr=Canadian French Edition, etc.
- [DateKey]: The date of release of the SNOMED CT Edition in ISO format.
  - Example, 20090131=Data released on 31st January 2009.
Use the drop-down list in the lower frame to select the target folder into which the ClueData will be imported.
Now click the Download button. The data will be downloaded and imported into the specified folder. A progress bar will allow you to monitor the rate of progress. Possible errors during download: If your internet connection is broken during the download the ClueData file downloaded may be damaged. In this case the import process will fail as noted below. Possible error message: An error '6' or a report of an import failure has three possible causes:
- The target folder may be locked. If any CliniClue process other than the ClueData Online Update is running, close it and try again.
- The ClueData archive may match the installed CliniClue Xplore version. For example, ClueData intended for use in CliniClue 2006 will cause an error if imported by CliniClue Xplore. Ensure you have a CliniClue Xplore data archive.
  Note: Files containing ClueData for CliniClue 2006 can be distinguished by their file names, which include the word 'Data' before the [EditionKey]. For example, 'SctDataIntl_20090731.zip' (ClueData 2006) instead of SctIntl_20090731.zip (ClueData 2009).
- The ClueData archive may be damaged. Try downloading the file again.
