Applying a CliniClue Validation Key

The following instructions explain how to apply a validation key. If you do not have a validation key please register online and you will be sent a validation key. If you are unable to register immediately you can use 'Demo' mode to authorise a short period of use (4-7 days). You should still register for your free validation key as soon as possible as this lasts for 12 to 18 months and avoids frequent interruptions for revalidation.

To apply a validation key:

  1. Load the 'CliniClue Validation form' so that the validation key can be entered. The 'CliniClue Validation form' is loaded by
    • Starting CliniClue Xplore on a system which does not have an up-to-date validation key; or
    • Using CliniClue Xplore menu option Help > Licence review' and then clicking the Renew Licence button.
    When reviewing a previous registration the current details are shown first.

  2. Click Renew Licence and the next options are displayed.
    • Register online for a Validation Key - Opens a web browser in a separate window and allows you to obtaining aValidation Key. After this the same form is displayed allowing you to choose one of the following options.
    • Enter a Validation Key - Takes you to the options for entering a key. See detail below.
    • Create a temporary Demo Key - Creates a temporary key that you can use to access CliniClue if you are unable to register immediately. Follow this link for details of the Demo Key option.


  3. Choose one of the options and click Next
  4. There are two ways to enter a Validation Key and these choice are offered by the next dialog.
    • Automatically from the clipboard - Highly recommended.
    • Manually by typing - Only use this if you do not have the registration email on this machine.


  5. If you follow the automated approach
    1. A blank form appears this form is automatically filled in when you copy you registration email to the clipboard.
    2. Copy the registration email onto the clipboard.
      • Select the text of the email
      • Hold the Ctrl key down and press the 'C' key




  6. If you chose the manual option you must type you licence details in This is not recommended as error are common. Therefore please use the automatic method unless you cannot copy the email text in the manner described above.

  7. Whichever approach you take to entering your Validation Key you must confirm acceptance of the CliniClue licence conditions by checking the relevant box before pressing the Ok button.

  8. Click the 'Ok' button to apply your validation key.

  9. You are now ready to use the CliniClue Xplore Browser.
