Installation instructions

1. Before you start you will need:
  • A computer with a Pentium processor running at least Windows 95 and preferably 98, NT or XP.
  • At least 32 MB of RAM and a spare 15 MB of hard disk space.
  • A program capable of unzipping files compressed in the PkZip format. Examples of such programs include WinZip, ZipMagic, PkZip.
2. Download the following files into a temporary folder on your system.

ClueCBH_Setup_1999_11.zip

ClueCBH_5_2006_05.zip

ClueCBH_4_2006_05.zip

The remaining instructions assume these files were downloaded into a folder called "c:\tmp\clue" --  this name is not important.

3. Extract the first of these files into another temporary folder using an unzip program.

This could be a subfolder of the first temporary folder. For example you could call the folder "c:\tmp\clue\setup".

4. Run the setup.exe program in the new folder by double clicking on it. If you have followed the suggested names so far this will be "c:\tmp\clue\setup\setup.exe".
  • Answer the prompts from the setup program. You should accept the suggestion to install in "C:\Program Files\clue" unless you have a particular need to install the program somewhere else. If you are using ClueCBH for code lookups in MIQUEST then you should install ClueCBH into your MIQUEST directory, usually "C:\Program Files\Miquest4"
5. Use an unzip program to extract the data from the "Data" files into "C:\Program Files\clue" (or the equivalent subfolder if you installed the application in another place eg."C:\Program Files\Miquest4"). The zip files contain paths to extract the files to RCC4 or RCC5 sub-directories depending on the coding scheme and should be extracted with the "Use folder names" option checked.
  • While extracting files from the "Data" files you may be prompted to overwrite existing files. You should respond "Yes" to these prompts.
6. You can now run the CLUE CBH Lookup program from your Start/Programs menu.
